1. Who we are

By using chessanimal.com you agree to these terms. Purchases are also covered by the terms of Paddle, our reseller (section 3).

2. What Chess Animal is

• The free card: type a Chess.com username and pick a time control (bullet, blitz or rapid), and we read that player's recent public games and give them one of sixteen "chess animals". The card is for fun. It is not a judgement of anyone's skill, character or ability, and it can be wrong, especially when there are few games.
• The report: a one-time purchase of $4.99 for a detailed report on one username and time control, read from up to 2,000 of that player's public games. The final price, with any tax, is shown at checkout. There is no subscription and no account.
• We are not affiliated with Chess.com. "Chess.com" is a trademark of its owner. We only use data that Chess.com publishes openly.

3. Buying a report

• Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com, who is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase.
• You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission and payment.
• After payment you get a private link to the report, and we email it to you. Keep the link private: anyone with it can open the report. If you lose it, we can send it again.
• The report is digital content and is delivered straight away. Refunds follow our refund policy.

4. Reports about other people

You can look up, and buy a report on, any public Chess.com username, for example as a gift. You agree not to use cards or reports to harass, stalk, shame or profile anyone, especially a child, or to publish them to harm someone. We may refuse or remove a card or report, and we remove a player's card and reports when they ask us to (see the privacy policy).

5. Using the site

Reports are for personal use. Sharing your own card is welcome. Do not resell reports, scrape the site, or try to get around its limits.

6. Accuracy and availability

Cards and reports are built from Chess.com data, which may be incomplete or change. We work to keep the site running and your report link working for as long as Chess Animal runs, but we can't promise the site is always available. If we ever close it, we will email buyers first so they can save their reports.

7. Liability

We are not liable for indirect losses. Our total liability for a purchase is limited to the price you paid, except for intent or gross negligence, or where the law does not allow a limit. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

8. Referral links

Some creators may earn a commission when you buy through their link. This never changes your price.

9. Changes and law

We may update these terms; the version shown when you bought applies to that purchase. Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live. Questions or complaints: [email protected].
